Programs - An Evening with Our History

Soon after the Lexington History Museum was incorporated to create a historical society and Museum for the Bluegrass in 2000 Henry Clay welcomed the first of over 8,000 guests in six years to “An Evening With Our History.” Dr. George McGee of Georgetown College (above) presented the Kentucky Humanities Council funded Chautauqua in what has become the Museum’s courtroom presentation center.
“Evenings” are regularly held on the third Thursday of the month September through May at 7:30 and cover a wide range of topics of interest to those interested in the history of the Bluegrass. The museum also produces “Evenings” related to new exhibits and special opportunities and appears on the Calendar at least two months in advance of event.
